Attack of the Scary-Ass Lemons!

Scary-ass Lemons

Mutant Lemons.

Here we go again.  Finished harvesting except for those lemons we absolutely could not reach.  I have seven+ bushels of lemons from which I now have to make lemon curd.  I think I could supply an entire Marine battalion with lemon curd for a year.

I threw a couple normal lemons in the above picture for the sake of comparison.  You would not believe the size of these lemons – some of the lemons we picked could take on a pomelo– no doubt.

So here’s the catch.  I burned out the motor in my juicer.  Had to order a new industrial strength juicer.  It’s coming Friday.  Next week I will turn into a juicing fool.  Need more jars too.

Ohhhhh boy.

Those are some scary looking lemons, indeed. My mouth is watering.

  2. Do the lemons from that tree always come out looking like that?

Probably a quarter of them do. It’s a dwarf Mediterranean lemon tree which grew to gigantic proportions and began to produce these Buddha hand lemons after a few years. Weird. The fragrance of these fruits is heavenly though.
